Eastertreats.

While I was making cupcakes for my Au Pair children, I treated myself as well: I got myself an amazing perfume in Anthropologie.

It’s by Tocca and called “Florence” - and it smells just amazing. It’s quite pricy as well though.

Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair.

Like probably any other girl in this world I love fairs. That’s why I was essentially squeaking with excitement when I heard that Britains best Vintage Fair came to Edinburgh to open it’s stalls in the wonderful Out Of The Blue Drill Hall in Leith.

It was probably the first time I had to queue for a fair - but the queue and the crowd waiting in the light flooded hall just intensified my excitement for all the treasures waiting to be found behind it.

When I got into the main hall, I was totally overwhelmed. There were stalls stuffed with colourful dresses in patterns, so unique you couldn’t even begin to describe, jewellery shining in the hollow sunlight and all kinds of vintage bits and pieces. The room was filled with a subtle smell of dust and indie pop tracks playing in the background.

The staff was just as beautiful as the stalls were arranged and very obliging - ready to help you with coruscating humour.

Apart from finding almost everything from 1920s laces to 1970s polyester dresses you could get your hair styled to proper Victory Rolls or have a nice cup of coffee at the, brilliant as usual, Drill Hall Arts Cafè.

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a saturday afternoon and press you to go and see the fair if it’s close to you! Check out their website for their “tour dates”.

What I did today.

Apart from having a brilliant breakfast, I made a bag today!

I haven’t sown anything in ages, so it is definitely not brilliant, but I quite like the result. I hope to be making some more bags, the next few weeks, with different illustrations.

Guten Tag.

Hello world. Here it is. My blog. I worked on it for quite a while - and the result is definitely not worth all the effort I put into it.

It is plain. Optimistic people would call it minimalistic, I guess.

It is empty. But that’s going to change, hopefully.

It’s in English. No. I’m not. But I don’t see a reason why I shouldn’t write in English.

I don’t claim that this blog is anything special. I don’t claim that it will be in the future - but if everything works out the way I want it to, then it will be a companion on a journey of which I don’t really know where it’s going and some people call growing up.

I like sharing the things I like, make and see and that is what this is all about, isn’t it? And if you’d like to join me, then you’re more than welcome to come along.
